Some Ramblings... Appointement Tomorrow

In a weird mood today... too much on my mind plus I've had some mucus buildup making it kinda hard to breath... carrying a heavy one strap backpack accross my chest doesn't help either. I really need a new backpack, I'm not helping my heart or my back (I have scoliosis) by having a one strap... I'm so bad hehe. I'm also tired and feeling down in a way that I feel like I need a girls night out lol. Eh, I don't want to go into the friends topic right now... maybe later. Then, I'm parnoid about getting sick with the flu (any flu for that matter)... I go around my college campus like all I see is germs... I have my hand sanitizer in hand and I stay away from alot of people. Crazy? Yes, I am, but I would call it more "better safe then sorry"!

So, tomorrow is a big day... my annual Cardiology Appointment which will start at 1:30pm starting with a refreshing and fun stress test (yeah right) followed by waiting, then an EKG and an Echo closing with my favorite part... talking to my one and only Cardiologist. I have ALOT of questions for my Cardio tomorrow, hope he is ready for them hehe. Prayers for good reports would be awesome as I will admit I am nervous (I get that way every year). Thank You for the prayers in advance! =D

Anyways, I have more to say, but I'm too tired to think plus I have class starting in 30mins. I will end this post with some promised pictures of my amazing three day trip to Lake Michigan (Saugatuck/Douglas area) in early Septmeber.

Quick Mid-September Update!

Hello Everyone!

I thought since I had some time that I would give a quick update. I’ve been doing well, staying healthy! Yay! I’ve been busy with college lately; this semester is going to be my hardest I can tell. I’m trying not to stress out and just take things as they come. Yesterday, I had a doctor’s appointment with my new primary doctor. I had never met him so I was a little nervous, but prepared with medical records to let him know all about my Congenital Heart Disease. I even though I wasn’t sick I had to see him in order to get a referral to Children’s Hospital and to inform him about my heart so he is prepared when I am sick. The appointment went well and I got my referral. I will be going to Children’s Hospital next Wednesday for the 1:30 appointment that I made last week. Yay! I will be having a stress test, an EKG, and an Echo. I’m so prepared for it haha. Anyways, my new primary doctor is very nice; he was SO interested about my Heart Condition. I think I was one of the first patients he has had with a Congenital Heart Defect; that was my impression anyways. He asked a lot of questions, he took my blood pressure, he listened to my heart, he looked at my scars; I even gave him some medical records about my condition which he copied to keep in his file and he seemed excited to read them later. I even got the regular flu shot while I was there. Though every year after I get the flu shot I don’t feel good for about a day and usually get a small fever. It happened again this year, so I didn’t go to school today. Luckily, I only had one class and she goes by her lecture notes that she posts online, so that made me feel better. At the moment I’m doing well and just relaxing. I will be doing some homework and some other things here soon. So, that’s about it for now.

Till next time… May God Guide, Comfort, and Bless you on your journey. Sending many **Heart Hugs** your way!

With LOTS of Hope, Love, and Faith,

P.S.: I still haven't had the time to upload Lake Michigan pictures to my laptop, so hopefully I can soon.

CHD Awareness and an Update!

Help Spread CHD Awareness:

http://www.thedoctorstv.com/produce

If you go on this site, join, and log in through the email they send you to confirm registration... you can go to vote for subjects to produce a show on... go to show subjects and under Pediatrics/Parenting there is CHDs!!! This show is run by Dr. Phil's son; maybe he can spread the news, since Oprah decided to ignore us! So PLEASE check it out and click on VOTE, for a show produced about CHDs!!! ALSO Please, if you can write a comment after you vote so the show's producers can SEE how IMPORTANT CHD Awareness is!!! Please pass this on!!!

I got this from a heart mom's carepage! =D
I HOPE this works! I'd LOVE to see CHD Awareness on TV!!!

Also, my Cardiology appointment will NOT be on Wednesday. I found out that the Health Insurance I'm paying for is Blue Care Network an HMO of Blue Cross Blue Shield and so I need to go to my primary doctor and get a referral to go to Children's Hospital plus pay a 250 dollar deductable as a cardiologist is considered a specialty doctor! UGH! Anyways, I'm going to see my primary this week and hopefully I can get in to see my Cardiologist the week after next! Keeping my fingers crossed!

I've been doing well... Lake Michigan was awesome and relaxing! I enjoyed myself alot! I did alot of site seeing and relaxing at many differeny beaches! =D I also climb a small mountain... I had to climb 300 stairs to get up to the top and I did it... I'm very proud of myself! I will post pictures of my trip when I get time to upload them to my labtop, I've been busy...I started my new college semester last week Thursday and it was overwhelming! It is going to be my hardest semester, but I know I'll get throgh it! Looking towards the future as I have alittle over a year more of college then I'm done... so I'm trying to enjoy the time I have left as well!

That's it for now... I continue to pray for so many families!

I do have one Prayer Request:
-A 36yr. old CHD Adult named Paul was born with Tricuspid Atresia and some other defects who was on the Heart Transplant list for over a year finally got a Heart about a week ago!!! Please go read his amazing story! http://mytricuspidatresia.blogspot.com/

Till next time... May God Bless, Comfort, and Guide you on your Journey!!!
Thank You ALL for the much heard prayers and messages of support! =D

September is Here!!!

Hello Everyone! Hope this finds everyone doing alright! September already!?!?

Thought I’d give an update on how I’ve been doing. I can’t believe it’s been ten days since my birthday. I’d like to say “Thank You” again for all the wonderful birthday wishes; they sure put a smile on my face. My birthday was good, my mom took me to get a manicure and pedicure… I’d never had a pedicure before so that was cool, then later that night my boyfriend took me to a restaurant of my choice. I also got some gifts from my little brother, mom, and my boyfriend’s mom. I had a good day, just can’t believe my birthday has come and gone already, my goodness. I pray I have another year full of blessings! =D

I’ve been busy relaxing and enjoying the last of the summer as I start school on Thursday! My boyfriend, Chris, and I will be celebrating 9 months on tomorrow… 9 months goes by fast! I love Chris so much! I will be going to Lake Michigan tomorrow with Chris and coming home on Wednesday night. I’m excited, but kind of stinks that the next day I have school… oh well! I will let everyone know how my time at Lake Michigan goes. I have to say I’m a little worried about starting school because of flu season, but I praying everything will be alright. I’m getting my flu shot soon and I taking precautions against the swine flu.

I do have some good news and some bad… as for good, I have Health Insurance!!! I applied for this Young Adult Program through my county about two weeks ago and got my card a few days ago. The program is through Blue Cross Blue Shield and it costs 112 dollars a month and includes vision and dental. I don’t have money for this Insurance so I’m taking out more loans, but I NEED Health Insurance! I already feel better knowing I have something for right now! As for the bad news, I contacted my State Reps. about my troubles with Medicaid Disability and they wrote back and it seems that they really can’t help me. I’m still going to go to my hearing and I’m still going to try to get Medicaid, but it’s not looking great… I decided I’m going to apply for Social Security Disability and see what happens as a lot of people have been telling me I should. Still praying and keeping my fingers crossed that I can get it, but I’m not stressed anymore knowing I have Health Insurance already even if I can’t pay for it with my own money. I have to do what I have to do.

I have my Cardiology appointment on September 16, I’m happy that I can go! I have a lot of questions for him. Also, I might be changing hospitals… Mott’s Children’s Hospital has an Adult Cardiologist that specializes in adults with Congenital Heart Disease, he use to be a Pediatric Cardiologist so he has more knowledge of my future and other things then my current cardiologist does. I LOVE my Cardiology, but he doesn’t specialize in adults with CHDs and I know that Children’s Hospital has an Adult Cardiologist, but she is young and doesn’t have much experience and I need to go to someone who does. I’ll let you know how things go, but on Sept 16 I will be seeing my Cardiologist that had known me my whole life and I’ll go from there. Prayers would be nice. Thank You!

Well, that’s about it for right now. I continue to pray for so many kids and adults along with their families. Sending many Thanks and **Heart Hugs** to all!!! I hope you all are enjoying the holiday weekend!

With LOTS of Hope, Love, and Faith,

P.S.: THANK YOU to those who have watched my 2nd CHD Montage as well as to those who have passed it on!!! I'm SO happy so many people have loved it!!!
